Assmann opens its doors during Clerkenwell Design Week 2016

London, 09.03.2016

London, 12 February 2016: Assmann has announced its participation in CDW 2016. The showroom, situated in the heart of Clerkenwell and shared with Waldmann Lighting and Wagner, the seating manufacturer, will host a special German themed evening on Wednesday, 25 May 2016.

Office Furniture Made in Germany
Bringing its functional and high quality office furniture to the UK for over four years, Assmann has become a popular choice amongst Architects and Designers, especially when it comes to designing, manufacturing, supplying and installing office furniture. Its manufacturing process takes place in Melle, Germany, where a state of the art factory boasts some of the latest manufacturing machinery with cutting edge design and engineering software. Assmann credits its buoyancy to the fact that clients are not merely ordering desks or shelving, but completely reconfiguring their workspaces to respond to new ways of working. For example, although the standing desk has been around for generations, its popularity has suddenly spiked thanks to employers realising how important movement is in the workplace.

Applica workstation
On show during CDW will be the increasingly popular workstation Applica. Its wall module at the desk can be used in a variety of configurations, both for screening workstations from the room and for zoning linked workstations. The clear design comes either with round or square frameworks, which support the need in office living environments for high work productivity alongside a strong feel-good factor. Desk and floor lamps can also be fitted. Acoustically effective panels are available as an option to provide a pleasant level of sound absorption. At the desk, power and data cables enter the Applica module via floor boxes or covered inlets, and are then divided inside the module into up to nine individual external sockets in the framework for a wide variety of mobile devices. Fixed hardware such as monitors, printers, scanners etc. can be connected inside the module via other plug connectors. The tidy cable management system also allows for mini PCs to be housed in the Applica wall element and safely stored thanks to lockable wall panels.

Sit/Stand & Sit/Sit solutions
During CDW the importance of space will be highlighted with Assmann's sit/sit solutions equipped with a crank handle so they can be adjusted to the right height for the user. Stuart Berkeley, Managing Director of Assmann UK says: “What people sometimes forget is that you need space to accommodate the chair whilst working standing up. If sit/stand is a no, try a sit/sit solution. I sometimes think this is the best solution in a lot of the present London Office layouts, as it allows the user to set the desk to the height that suits them”.

Producing high-quality office furniture since 1939, this third generation family owned business fully understands the key challenges facing the workplace today and thus ensures that they provide the best office furniture solutions for all environments, whether a small office or a large workplace. This has helped the company become one of the major players in the industry. The Assmann group continuous to grow and their “Made in Germany” office furniture solutions are now present in eight European countries., 020 72516836, 75 Turnmill Street, London EC1M 5SY.
